Percy's PoV. Chapter 30.
I ran to Calypso screaming in her chains. I uncapped Riptide along the way and slashed right through the chains; like scissors with paper. I knew what Athena was doing.
After I cut her chains off I pushed her heavily out of the way of the deadly traps. Then I sprinted to Annabeth. I tried cutting the chains like I did with Calypso but it was no good- not even a scratch on the chains. I tried pulling on them and the- the saw bladed got closer. I pushed Annabeth down and covered her with my body. I spotted a lock at the very bottom of the chains. I smashed Riptide against the lock several times and it broke open. Then I pushed Annabeth out of the way, taking her spot in the death traps. Just as I felt the saw blades rip my shirt sleeves to pieces and the spikes graze my back, the traps turned to golden dust.
"Why'd you save her first!" Annabeth suddenly screamed at me, flailing her arms around, punching me. I grabbed her arms tightly and she fell on to my chest.
"Listen; I knew Athena would do that. She knew I would go to you first- it was too easy. But the chains on you were stronger than the ones on Calypso so if I tried saving you first, I would get you out but Calypso would die. Get it?" I fell down on the floor panting. She looked at me like she understood and went to go help Calypso up.
A bright light flashed and Athena appeared standing above me.
"That doesn't prove anything." She said coldly, and I looked away when a blinding light flashed for two seconds.

We all agreed to not tell my mom or Paul about what happened. They left to go to New Jersey for a personal party of Paul's family and Calypso went with them because my mom thought it would be a good chance for her to see some more of the world. So it was just me and Annabeth now. I felt awkward so I went to bed early at around 8.
I laying in bed looking up at the ceiling thinking of nothing particular. The door creaked open and Annabeth walked in. I moved as far as I could away from her when she got in the bed with me. She cuddled up to me which made me feel weird because I thought we were supposed to be mad at each other or something.
"I'm sorry... For being jealous." She whispered. She made it so hard to be mad at her! I didn't say anything.
"Talk!" She whined.
"What do you want me to say?" I countered. She didn't say anything back, so I guess this would be a good time to say some things.
"I don't love Calypso. I love you, I swear. I just didn't know what to do... I'm sorry too." I turned to Annabeth and kissed her on the cheek. But that apparently didn't satisfy her because she pulled my shirt hard and made me lay on top of her.
"Annabeth I-" I started but I felt her hands behind my head and pushed me into her. She was kissing me hard; entwining her tongue with mine, tracing and biting my lips. I bit her lip and pulled back to breathe. She was breathing hard, her chest heaving up and down.
"I know how to prove it." She whispered, moving her hand along my back.
"What?" I asked confused. She moved her hand down my shoulders, around my arm, then slowly down the length of my torso.
"Kiss me Percy." She said quietly. I kissed her on the lips and looked back at her.
"More." She said. I kissed her again, except longer.
"More." She repeated. I kissed her once more, even longer, but this time I slipped my tongue in her mouth and traced her out lips. She moaned quietly. When I drew back, she sighed.
"Percy," She took one of my hands and put it on her stomach. "More." And she pushed my head back down and kissed me softly. I felt one of her hands tussle with my hair while the other one grabbed my hand and pulled it even lower down my body. I immediately stopped kissing her.
"Annabeth! What are you doing!" I asked bemused.
"Percy this is the perfect moment. If you want to prove you love me, please." She giggled quietly and tugged on my shirt. I tried to move her hand away but it stayed there firmly. We were only 17!
"Make love to me." She said softly.
